Events - MARK YOUR CALENDARS
Crop Walk - Sunday, October 5th, at Island Park. Registration at 1:00 p.m., Walk begins at 1:30 p.m.

"SMALL THINGS FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST"
This phrase used by David Dreyer at a meeting yesterday is a great way of describing how I look at participation in the annual CROP WALK: it constitutes a small but meaningful way to make a real difference in the lives of those who go to bed hungry everyday.
In the last 20 years CropWalk has raised over $264 million to assist those suffering from hunger. In addition to helping International and National organizations, 25% of the money will go the the following local groups: Project Fresh, Weidman Food Pantry, Red Cross Food Pantry, Isabella County Soup Kitchen and Commission on Aging Food with Friends.
Gatherings at St. Vincent DePaul Parish at 4:00 pm. We are trying to schedule our gatherings on the second Sunday of each month so you can plan accordingly.
November 9th Prayer Service:
Our next gathering is scheduled for November 9, 2008 at St. Vincent Parish in Shepherd at 4:00 pm. Rev Ron and Rev Margaret Vredeveld will lead us in a prayer service. This service will be followed by a Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey, mash potatoes and gravy, and stuffing will be provided. You are asked to help with other foods. This time we are asking you to bring food according to your last name. If your last name begins with:
A thru K, please bring a dessert,
L thru M, please bring a salad or side dish.
At this gathering we will be collecting items for Christmas Outreach. This year we especially need small toys. The free toys from McDonald’s and Burger King are fine if the envelope is unopened. Yo-yos, play doh, jacks, small puzzles, etc. are great. We also badly need small toothpastes.
Also, we will be collection food for the Food Pantry at this service.
December 14th Mass:
A Christmas Mass will be celebrated on December 14, 2008 with Fr. Julius Spleet presiding. The mass will be held at St. Vincent DePaul Parish in Shepherd at 4:00 pm. A pork and roast beef dinner with baked potato bar will follow the mass. You are asked to bring other food according to your last name. If your last name begins with:
A thru K, please bring a salad or side dish,
L thru M, please bring a dessert.
Our special guest for this celebration will be Santa and Mrs. Claus. Please bring a gift for your child with his/her name on it for Santa to give to them.
Car-pooling for services:
We are establishing car-pooling for this service and future services. If you need a ride or are willing to give a ride, please contact us by sending an email message to dkarmon@faithweavers.org. In your email let me know if you are willing to give a ride or you need a ride; your phone number and your address. If you are willing to give a ride, please let me know how many people you can accommodate.
